For Elementary School Leaders and Their Teams

Help your teachers find a clearer path from student evidence to instruction.

Phased Mastery™ helps teachers and school leaders connect curriculum, assessment, and collaboration through a shared understanding of what students need to learn next.

We currently bring this work to Grades 3–5 teams through a multi-month math implementation partnership.

Bringing the Pieces Together

You have curriculum, assessments, and time to collaborate. What comes next?

Your teachers are working hard to support students. But having resources and reviewing data doesn’t always make the next instructional step clear. Phased Mastery™ helps teams connect what’s already in place through a shared process for understanding learning, interpreting student evidence, and deciding how to respond.

A Shared Understanding

What are students working toward?

Use learning progressions to understand the steps within a standard and what students need to learn along the way.

Meaningful Evidence

What are students showing us now?

Look beyond a score. Examine student work and assessment responses together to understand what students know and where they need support.

Clearer Direction

What makes sense to do next?

Connect that understanding to decisions about instruction, flexible grouping, and targeted support within the routines your school already uses.

Our Current Focus: Grades 3–5 Math

A clear plan to support your team.

The multi-month Phased Mastery™ Math Implementation Partnership helps your full grade-level team build and apply a shared process within the curriculum and mathematics instruction your school already uses.

01

Talk Through Your School’s Needs

Start with a School Leader Conversation about your priorities, current math structures, and the support your team needs. Together, we’ll determine whether the partnership is a good fit.

02

Build a Shared Foundation

Once the partnership begins, a review of your existing systems informs the initial training. Your team learns to use learning progressions, interpret student evidence, and plan instructional responses.

03

Put It Into Practice Together

Your team puts the framework into practice with monthly implementation support, practical tools, and opportunities to work through questions from their classrooms.

Build toward a team that can explain what students are showing, identify what they need next, and plan a response together.

From the Classroom

Your teachers deserve support with the decisions they make every day.

I’m Kallie Ash, an elementary teacher and the founder of Phased Mastery™. In my own classroom, I’ve had curriculum, assessments, and colleagues who cared deeply about students—and still wanted more clarity about what students needed next.

Learning progressions helped me understand the steps within the learning and make more intentional instructional decisions. I created Phased Mastery™ to help teachers and school leaders build that shared understanding using the resources and structures already in place.
